Event at levels on March 11 2006
Author: Martman :: Posted: Wed Feb 01, 2006 11:58 pm
For those who are interested there is an event coming up at levels that is suitable for people to enter in standard road cars with the normal safety gear.

This is not a drag or a drift event.

Kinda like a triathalon with three events on the day all on tarseal.

First one uses the pits, pit lane, and front straight to make a track,

Second if a full lap of the full track,

Third is a really cool track known as the go kart track or top loop.

This is not a large event with usually a small number of competitors
so would be good for someone who is just getting into motorsport.

There is no gate fee as there is not normally enough spectators to justify someone on the gate so is "free spectator entry".

A club membership is required to either SCCC, Canty Car Club, Ashburton CC, etc etc.

Anyone interested can PM me for more info, or wait and i'll post more details here in a few weeks.

Matt

Cost $30 dorimon menbers

Signup and Scruteneering 9:30AM!!!! - 10:20AM!!!!!

Briefing 10:30 AM

Drifting starts 11:00 AM and finish at 3:00PM NO LATE ENTRIES
This time there will be at least THREE flag marshalls, two in the track and one at the starting line, with fire extinguishers and radio communications to make the track safer and running smoother for everybody and stop the odd grass fire if needed

Then we have plenty of time to clean up and leave the property before 5:00PM

YOU MUST BRING

helmet
full coverd shoes
1 piece 100 percent cotton overalls!!!!!!
Min 0.9Kg Fire Extinguisher mounted/BOLTED WITH STEEL BRACKETS(no plastic zipties) somewhere accessible to the driver, eg on the floor by the front seat with in hands reach

Your car must be in a road worthy condition (no leaks, no loose bolts, battery's positive side covered)
(you do not need rego or warrent az it is a race track)

TRACK RULES

1- will be 10-15 minute sessions timed from one of the flag marshalls at the day.
2- there will be 10 cars max on the track at one time.
3- if the driver ends up crashing in to a tyre wall they will be paying half the cost for repairs.
4- no passegers aloud at all.
5- if you have car promblems please get az far off the track az possible.
6- if your car breaks down please carefully wave down a driver and tell him to tell the marshall
at the start line who well get the tow van.
7- if you blow a tyre please give way to other drivers and come back to pits at a slow pase with
your hazards on and give way to other drivers try and keep out of there line

PLEASE DONT SPEED OR MISBEHAVED IN ANY WAY ON YOUR WAY TO THE TRACK AND WHEN YOU LEAVE THE TRACK. THIS GOES TO ALL SPECTATORS ASWELL. The locals who live around the area will notice this and make complaints. Police do very often park by the front gate and watch cars come and go.

the locals will be taking down number plates of cars that they think are in the wrong and will tell me. we have a 0 tolerance for the drivers and spectators.
like last track day we ended up removeing 4cars out of the park for stupied behaviour so if use see any body in the wrong doing donuts or handbrakes in the car parks please tell them to stop before i catch them and remove them. and where there is a road please drive on it. so please take good care of the track and car parks.

az for drivers please clean up after ya self at the end of each day there are lots of blue rubbish bins to put your rubbish in. in stead of leaveing it on the ground for the rest of us to clean up.

Peggasus Bay drags and drifts ?
Author: Cydrift :: Posted: Fri Dec 23, 2005 10:34 pm
Just an idea but has anyone thought of approaching the drag club to run a joint Drift and drag event running the "B" track.
The idea would be to run a ten minuit sessions in the breaks between drag racing.

It would boost the numbers for the drag club and make it more profitable for them and increase our track time. I personaly wouldn't go to the drags unless something big was on, but i would definately go if the drifter were there.

Theres heaps of room in the pits at that end.

It would retain more heat in the track (good for the drag cars)

Drifters could do a few drag runs too.

Maybe an burnout comp at the end of the day (drift car vs Drag car ?)

There would be emergency crew and St Johns already on site.

It would move the noise away from the road and houses, and could still be viewed from the embankment.

It could be run as a demonstration and possiably become a more perminant fixture.

And best thing is it would most likely be on a sunday, which would suit almost everyone.

Good idea? Bad idea ? Any problems i can't see
